Job description

Lloyds Banking Group is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with a track record of delivering high-quality work to join our team in Bristol, UK. As a Software Engineer, you'll play a critical role in building the bank of the future.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.
  • Write unit and integration tests, and align with coding standards to ensure code quality.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and testers to deliver high-performance backend services.
  • Work closely with SRE and DevOps team to monitor and troubleshoot existing services.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of software development principles with experience of building highly observable and scalable solutions.
  • Experience in Python. Experience of Node.js and React would be an advantage.
  • Be a self-starter, comfortable to drive self-learning by reading existing codebases.
  • Experience with GCP including tools such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub and Cloud Storage, or their equivalent AWS/Azure services would be an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with Git & an understanding of CI/CD and its implementation in cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile principles & practices including scrum methodology and associated tools such as Jira.
  • Familiarity with software testing methodologies and practices.
  • Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective collaboration and relationship-building capabilities.
