JOB TITLE: People Advisor

SALARY: £59,850 to £66,500

LOCATION(S): Leeds, Edinburgh & Bristol

HOURS: Full-time / Part Time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

About this Opportunity

A day in the life of a People Advisor is fast paced and ever changing! As an integral part of the team, you will work on all aspects of the colleague lifecycle across topics such as strategic workforce planning, recruitment, culture, organisation design, talent management, reward, learning & development, people risk, and more. We spend a lot of time talking to business leaders, managers, and our HR colleagues; everything we do is about connecting and building positive relationships. 

Group COO is made up of over 20,000 colleagues. The work of these colleagues underpins how the whole Group runs, changes, and innovates; supported by our Platform operating model which continues to evolve and mature.  

We also support several specialist teams, including Group Sourcing & Supplier Management, Chief Technology Office, Chief Security Office, Group Payments, Lloyds Technology Centre (based in Hyderabad, India), and the Chief Data & Analytics Office.  These teams are critical to supporting the broader Group to make our business strategy a success. With the amount of change across the Group, it is an exciting part of the organisation to work in, where no two days will be the same.

What you'll be doing

  • Support the Partnering team to land and embed People initiatives, products, and policy changes. 

  • Provide strong HR policy and procedure knowledge to key internal customers, using good judgement and mentorship to support our business. 

  • Act as a trusted adviser, by developing a deep understanding of the Group COO business, creating and implementing operational plans with a future focus. 

  • Lead on People related data and MI to provide insights to inform People solutions and support business change. 

  • Anticipate potential People-related risks and contributing to the creation of effective solutions for talent and succession management. 

  • Act as an ambassador of behavioural and cultural change, leading the business to build the desired culture and improve colleague engagement, where appropriate identifying relevant HR programmes / projects / interventions. 

What we need from you: 

  • Collaborative team member. 

  • Ability to prioritise and focus on what matters. 

  • Great at building relationships.  Develops trust by being honest and genuine. 

  • Great at communicating, understanding the overall situation and connecting the dots. 

  • Ability to interrogate and analyse multiple data sources to inform planning and decisions. 

  • Ability to lead change and be comfortable with ambiguity.

  • Expertise in all core HR disciplines, and a track record of providing strong HR policy and procedure knowledge, ideally within a Technology domain.
