JOB TITLE: Designer - Beehive In-house Agency (12-Month Secondment)
LOCATION(s): Bristol, Halifax or Edinburgh

HOURS: Full-time
DURATION: 12-Month Secondment

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, in the office.

About this opportunity

Beehive, our in-house creative agency sits within Brands Marketing and Experience, which is part of the Consumer Relationship division. We opened our doors in 2021, and we’re now a 47 strong team of passionate designers, artworkers, copywriters and account & traffic managers.

We work in partnership with communication teams across Brands, Marketing & Experience – working together to get every brief right first time, whether it’s design that makes the complex simple, a personalised one-to-one campaign that drives action or in-branch material that is perfect for the time and place.

A little bit about the role…

  • You’ll help our customers to understand how we can support their financial needs through the creation of best-in-class marketing communications.

  • Produce high quality design work for assets across a range of channels including email, Internet Banking, Direct Mail, Social and Digital Display.

  • Presenting creative work to our comms partners. You’ll be a great storyteller, able to bring your ideas to life when presenting to our senior teams.

  • You’ll have strong influencing skills, with the ability to challenge directly in a respectful and collaborative way.

  • You’ll work as part of a team often managing competing deadlines - so the ability to deal with ambiguity and stay calm under pressure is essential.  

  • Taking ownership of your creative projects and briefs from start to finish

  • Ensuring the visual identity of our Lloyds Banking Group brands is consistent at all times

  • Working with copywriters to bring simple, tactical direct response communications ideas to life.

  • You’ll help to build a brilliant team culture, taking ownership for your career and personal development.

What you’ll need

  • Solid agency experience - in house or at an external agency. We're looking for an ideas person and someone who is able to execute their concepts to the highest standard.

  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Figma. After Effects and any UX/UI experience would be a bonus.

  • A customer first mindset, ensuring our creative is designed with accessibility in mind and in line with the principles of Consumer Duty.

  • Conceive original, and innovative campaigns, that help to differentiate our Brands and strengthen our relationships with customers.

  • Highly driven creative with solid experience in 121, personalised communications and working in a multi disciplined creative team.

  • The ability to interpret a creative brief and understand requirements - working with others to execute on brief and to a high standard.

  • A strong eye for detail and consistency is essential.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability and gravitas to propose your ideas with a clear and compelling rationale.

  • With 14 brands in our portfolio, you’ll know your way around a set of brand guidelines or two – building, applying, interpreting and challenging them.
