JOB TITLE: UX Designer - Embedded Finance (12-Month FTC)

LOCATION: London / Chester / Leeds
SALARY: £70,929 - £78,810 (London) / £59,850 - £66,500 (National)

HOURS: Full Time
DURATION: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time in the office.
Ideally you’ll be based in London; if you're based in Chester or Leeds, frequent travel to London will be required.

About this opportunity
As UX Design and Design Research for Embedded Finance, you’ll be part of the Experience Design team and ‘embedded’ in the product team, reporting day to day to the Senior Manager, UX Design. You’ll work closely with Product, Design and Engineering colleagues across Functions, Business Units, and our External Technology Partner (NewDay Tech) to build products that win in the market.

You’ll be responsible for developing and researching the touchpoints in our end-to-end journeys, this includes working with New Day, our technology partner to improve our conversion journeys, but it also includes partnering with our customer journey managers to reimagine our longer term journeys that engage customers with embedded finance and ensure those that use us have a fantastic experience right to the point of renewal or close of the product.

To create this, you’ll build a deep understanding of customer needs, and pain points, keep a close watch on competitors’ solutions and emerging capabilities, and work closely with Design teams to learn from, and leverage, best practices and builds. You'll also work alongside technology partners inside and outside the Group to leverage their backlogs in a strategic way.

This is an exciting opportunity to build out Embedded Finance solutions in a competitive and fast paced market. It’s also a great opportunity to work extensively with a range of teams across Lloyds and external service providers and technology partners.

What you’ll need

  • You’ve had experience of translating complex customer and business requirements into simple and user-friendly customer solutions

  • You’ll be comfortable using design research methods to do fast paced and iterative research of our journey improvements. You’ll use data and customer feedback to identify pain and gain points, and validate improvements we want to make.

  • You’re comfortable bringing the voice of the customer into everything that we do so the solutions we build are genuinely useful, get used, and build our business as a result.

  • You're experienced at managing relationships with external partners, providers and stakeholders to deliver solutions.

  • You're unafraid to set aspirational outcomes, but you’re also happy to get stuck in and help build solutions that see the light of day.

  • You're comfortable with challenge, used to asking penetrating questions, and engage constructively when challenged yourself.

  • You engage collaboratively with partners to bring all hands on deck to solve a problem.

  • You care about detail but are comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity – you can zoom out to see which areas of detail truly matter, and how to build with the right tolerances.

  • You enjoy collaborating across teams and can build strong relationships at pace. And you’ll relish the opportunity to be part of a team that is building for growth!
