SALARY: £86,964 - £102,310

LOCATION(S): Halifax

HOURS: [Full-time]

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week currently, or 40% of our time, at our Halifax Office.

You’ll work with product owners to deliver the highest quality customer driven software using modern strategies and cloud-based technologies whilst continually challenging, motivating, monitoring, and supporting engineering teams. As a Lead, you’ll contribute across key aspects of delivery from initiation through design and into delivery and beyond. You’ll possess expert knowledge of multiple applications, technologies, and business processes across several platform domains. You’ll deliver the best technical solutions for complex and significant business needs, where no precedent may exist, whilst ensuring compliance with the Bank’s IT architecture design and all regulatory, mandatory, and statutory requirements, always protecting the Bank.

You’ll influence positively, demonstrating the right values and behaviours, and encouraging this in team members. As a leader and motivator, you’ll nurture team members to create a high performing team culture.

What you’ll need…

  • Strong Software Engineering background with experience of delivering software products and solutions, adhering to enterprise architecture principles and design patterns, across the full development lifecycle is essential.

  • Data Engineering and Data product knowledge, leading Data Engineering teams to build new Data estate, replacing legacy architecture.

  • Expert knowledge of modern development toolset such as Cloud, API development, Kafka, APIGEE, JavaScript, Node.JS, DevOps.

  • You’ll be a great communicator with technical and non-technical audiences, from end-users to senior stakeholders. You will be able to produce high-quality documentation tailored to your audience.

  • You will be self-organising and able to prioritise both your own and your team’s resources to meet demanding delivery timeframes.

  • A natural facilitator and decision maker, you’ll enable collaboration across all teams within the lab.

It would be great if you had…

  • Knowledge of mortgage products, pricing process and execution.

  • Experience of an enterprise Data environment

  • Understanding of building applications through containerized microservices-based architectures.

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, resilience, and security architecture practices and concerns.
