JOB TITLE: Head of Transactions, GCT and Investments

SALARY: £111,469 to £144,254

LOCATION: Edinburgh

HOURS: Full Time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Edinburgh hub.

About this opportunity

This exciting role offers the opportunity to lead, build and motivate a team of c.30 finance professionals, in the Transaction, Group Corporate Treasury (GCT) & Investments Team, partnering with LBG Investments and GCT to deliver a robust control environment which gives confidence in reporting to your customers. In addition, you'll have a key role to play in the delivery of reporting around complex transactions, providing valuable insights and support to stakeholders to drive LBG’s strategic agenda. You'll also have responsibility for oversight of the Group’s legal entity financial control framework.

You’ll join us in Group Finance Support (GFS), a key function within the Finance community of LBG. We’re a team of c.300 colleagues, with responsibilities including financial reporting and control, people and culture initiatives and strategy implementation.

The team are at the start of a significant Transformation journey, and you'll be part of influencing, designing and implementing Finance Transformation over the next 5 years, both within Group Finance Support and beyond!

Key Accountabilities

  • Drive and positively influence key internal and external GFS partners including Divisional Finance Directors, Risk Partners and our external auditors
  • Provide challenge, insight and decision support to the LBG Investments and GCT to improve business controls and performance
  • Responsible for ensuring robust risk management processes, including SOX and RCSA, are embedded within the team, and provide a ‘no-surprises’, high quality Financial Control environment
  • Own and be accountable in driving resolution of issues at pace, collaborating effectively across teams to get the best solution for LBG
  • Lead the team to support Transformation, including leading and influencing the design and delivery into the key areas of activity
  • Build, lead and develop a successful professional, resilient and driven Finance team.
  • Driving an environment of continuous improvement, in particular through data improvement and the use of automation and AI tools
  • As a key member of the Leadership team, drive the cultural change to ensure that GFS is well placed to deliver for now and for the future

What are we looking for from you?

  • Leader with drive, energy and a growth mindset, who leads by example and has experience of leading a large team
  • Excellent communicator, able to influence and articulate complex issues at all levels across LBG, building strong diverse working relationships across different parts of the Group.
  • Strategic thinker, with a passion for creating and driving future transformation and continuous improvement within Finance.
  • Attract, inspire and lead a successful, diverse professional team actively managing performance to realise potential and retain talent.
  • Qualified finance professional with significant post qualification experience in control and management and statutory reporting
  • Strong Risk and Control understanding, including RSCA and SOX framework; with an awareness of the key risks facing LBG Finance
