Salary: £57,456 - £63,940
Location: Edinburgh, Bristol, Birmingham or Halifax
Hours: Full-time
Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week currently, or 40% of our time, at one of the above locations.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to become the Sourcing Manager responsible for the Group's travel and meeting & events, where we support nearly every area of the Bank in their exciting transformation journeys. In today's dynamic environment, the way we purchase travel has never been more crucial. You'll navigate a challenging supply market while helping us reduce our carbon footprint. Every contract we develop directly impacts our customers, clients, and/or colleagues, and we take pride in ensuring they are at the heart of that change.

In Group Sourcing and Supplier Management (GS&SM), we play a pivotal role in delivering our vision by working closely with our supplier network to deliver value at pace and scale. It's a phenomenal time of change and transformation within the Group, and the GS&SM teams are at the heart of that change.

What You’ll Do:

  • Sourcing Activities: Manage end-to-end sourcing activities and commercial negotiations, ensuring optimal solutions from customer, commercial, technology, and risk perspectives.

  • Market Insight: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the travel supply market and share that knowledge with your customers to help develop a strong future view.

  • Value Delivery: Develop and nurture critical relationships with key partners , driving commercial thinking by challenging the status quo to deliver greater value.

  • Contract Outcomes: Manage and deliver outcomes for a portfolio of contracts, coordinating activities related to major contracts within established procurement procedures and risk management systems

  • Personal Development: Grow your capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities.

  • Wider Category Knowledge: There may be opportunity to support other categories within the immediate team and develop a wider knowledge of the bank’s operations.

What you’ll need

  • Sourcing Expertise: Experience of managing end-to-end sourcing activities and commercial negotiations,.
    Experience within the Travel industry would be beneficial but not essential.

  • Relationship Builder: The ability and experience in developing and nurturing critical relationships with key partners, driving commercial thinking by challenging the status quo to deliver greater value. As part of our annual hotel programme, you'll be required to meet with account managers from hotel groups to promote LBG as a strategic customer.

  • Contract Management: Experience in managing and delivering outcomes for a portfolio of contracts, coordinating activities related to major contracts within established procurement procedures and risk management systems.

  • Market Knowledge: The ability to maintain an up-to-date understanding of the category supply market as well as developing an understanding of the wider influences on that market including technology.

  • Personal Growth: A willingness to grow your capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities.

  • IT Skills: A significant aspect of the role will involve the preparation of detailed and complex reports therefore experience in Excel (macro’s / pivot tables) will be important.
