About this opportunity

We're looking for individuals with a passion for quality, mentoring, and community building to join our automation team. As an Automation Engineer based in Bristol, you'll support the Strategic Ledger Lab within the Finance Platform. Your role involves working within a specific feature team alongside our wider team, ensuring we follow an "Automate first" approach to all testing and identifying areas for creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for change delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Automation: Aid and implement test strategies with a strong understanding of Modern Testing Principles. You'll be hands-on in delivering high-quality software using DevOps practices and tools.

DevOps: Deliver change in a modern way by applying technology to create and maintain CI/CD pipelines, defining version control, and ensuring security across the new finance estate. You'll be involved in transforming how we test and release code into our estate.

Quality Engineer: Ensure governance within testing is delivered using the correct tooling and that repositories and artifacts are maintained. Ensure compliance with audit requirements by adhering to Testing Principles.

Working within the Strategic Ledger Lab, you'll ensure we follow processes to deliver in the most efficient, but compliant way. You'll ensure the correct governance is being followed for version controlling of code and will support the transformation of technology and delivery processes with DevOps and Automation at the heart of our delivery model.

  • Experience in Quality Engineering with a deep knowledge of Test Lifecycle, Test Models, Best Practices, Test Benchmarking and Test Tools

  • An understanding of Agile methodologies and ways of working

And any experience of these would be really useful:

  • Understanding of the Finance Technologies & Infrastructure would be good but not essential
