Hours: Full time

Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Edinburgh office.

About this opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Owner within the Insurance, Pensions & Investments (IP&I) Rectifications team - Customer Solutions. The team sits within the IP&I Chief Control Office.

Our purpose is to fix systemic detriment and remediate customers who have suffered harm caused by defects either in the product, or service across IP&I. You would join the team at a pivotal time as we transition from delivering change via waterfall, to a more platform based, Agile way of working.

As Product owner, you'll have overall ownership of the team’s product (rectification) backlog which will contain multiple rectifications. You'll lead all aspects of the delivery of incremental value, with the primary aim of fixing the issues and delivering value to customers and stakeholders by ensuring the team focuses on the right priorities.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Accountable for Product change governance (e.g., PRIA, DSOC) and Business Readiness activities (e.g., training and comms, testing and readiness for implementation) for their respective journeys.
  • Prioritise user-stories at team level to meet customer needs and analyse user stories for customer journey improvements.
  • Provide input into Business Change Team Product vision and roadmap.
  • Prioritise, refine and lead team Product backlog.
  • Support delivery of Team OKRs and provide product performance and benefits realisation data. Implement development frameworks for your area & coach/mentors others.
  • Investigate incidents and develop contingency plans whilst handling risks and issues.
  • Work with Props SME to manage dependencies

What you’ll need:

  • Product Delivery - You'll have led improvements on product development process and delivery using new methodology, techniques, tools, etc. You've been responsible for cross-functional teams’ collaboration to deliver products in innovative delivery methods.
  • Leadership & Culture - Experienced in cultural change initiatives with an understanding of the main barriers to changing culture and the criticality of leadership consensus.
  • Product Ownership - You have experience of handling a backlog efficiently and delivering simple and sophisticated product changes. You demonstrate a good level of domain knowledge.
  • Customer Centricity - Validated experience of anticipating customer’s needs and using customer input and steer to present targeted, coordinated, and outcome-focused solutions and opportunities.
