We’re looking for a leader in Compliance for our Group Control Room function to support with the adherence with all core regulatory requirements for Market Abuse, Conflicts of Interest (Personal and Transactional), Wall Crossing and other core control room related activities. Not only will you bring significant compliance experience, but you'll need to be innovative and transformational who loves proactively working with business executives and wider Compliance experts to develop new opportunities to better meet customers’ needs! Day to day you’ll be;

  • Strategically leading the delivery of a Group Control Room Function, ensuring the effective management, coordination and execution of all control room activities.
  • Building positive relationships with external partners, in particular regulators, industry peers and other governing bodies.
  • Building an appropriate Target Operating Model for the function.
  • Identifying, mitigating and escalating Conduct & Compliance risks.
  • Responsible for the oversight and management of actions and recommendations assigned to the Control Room.
  • Owning, crafting and implementing Conduct & Compliance Risk policies and appetite, including tolerances and thresholds. Lead and facilitate your understanding and adherence throughout the organisation, including ongoing management and continuous monitoring.
  • Leading on the creation and ongoing development of Group guardrails for Conduct & Compliance Risk acceptance and mitigation. Supporting leadership to make risk-based decisions in line with risk appetite.
  • Interpreting new and existing regulations accurately and adeptly. Forethinking the direction of travel and anticipating the impact of the proposed changes on the Group.

What you’ll need

  • A deep operational expertise and a technical expert in relation to a Conduct & Compliance Control Room function including but not limited to Corporate and Investment Banking businesses.
  • Considered a deep subject matter authority on compliance internally and externally, with a strong understanding of the latest Compliance frameworks and technology being used across financial and Non-Financial services
  • Proficient in the knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and established technical conventions.
  • Able to make good and timely decisions that keep the organisation moving forward, skilfully balancing difficult trade-offs to understand and assimilate different sources of data and sophisticated information.
  • Acted as a business partner, building partnerships and working collaboratively with others, with the ability to support leadership and risk owners make risk-based decisions consistent with risk appetite.
  • Able to demonstrate depth to expertly provide challenge and advice to the business and other key partners.
  • Excellent leadership skills with evidence of coaching to go faster by demonstrating dedication to create an environment that builds teams with skills aligned to our Group Strategy and Purpose.
