Areas with the biggest house price growth of 2021 have seen the value of homes rise by three times the national average, according to the latest data from Halifax.
Halifax has revealed the UK’s most expensive streets in 2021, with Tite Street in the London Borough of Chelsea and Kensington at the top of this year’s property Christmas tree – with an average house price of £28.9million.
The latest Lloyds Bank Business Barometer shows business confidence remained unchanged at 40%. The survey captured responses between 26 November and 10 December, during which the Omicron variant emerged and before the Bank of England’s decision to increase base rate to 0.25%.
The housing market once again proved surprisingly robust during 2021, as Government policy support combined with pandemic-driven shifts in housing preferences to keep transaction demand elevated.
